Full score with Puccini’s autograph heading: “Finale [over an erased word] / Finale (to be orchestrated) [words in parentheses erased] / Giacomo Puccini / April 1882 / Milan”, with the date and place crossed out. Above the heading: “Tutti gli archi”, also crossed out. Instrumental indications: “Violini 1i”, “Violini 2i”, “Viole”, “Violoncelli”. D minor, 3/4, “Allegro Vivo”, written to the right of an erased, illegible word.
The annotation in the four-hand piano transcription by Michele Puccini — “ultimo tempo del quartetto in Re” (see Appendix II.3Note: Formerly 56 in Schickling 2003 .) — confirms that this piece belongs with 50.

Parts.

The parts for the 1st Violin and Viola (a2 and c) were most likely copied by Michele Puccini; the other parts were written by another copyist. There is a second copy of the Violin II part (b2), broken off on the second page. All of the parts are headed: “Quartetto in Re”. The Viola part bears the autograph signature: “Giacomo Puccini”.
Fellerer 1937b, p. 689, reproduced the 8 last bars in the form of a piano score.
