105. Piano Work in G Major on "Sovra il sen la man mi posa" by Vincenzo Bellini (Sonnambula)

This is an elaboration of the melody of "Sovra il sen la man mi posa", included in No. 2, Recitative e Cavatina, from Act I of Vincenzo Bellini's La Sonnambula. In the piano piece, Puccini transposes the first part of the Cavatina with a series of modifications: the key changes from A flat major to G major, the orchestral accompaniment is simplified, and the complementary parts of Teresa and the chorus are reduced to elements of the piano accompaniment.
