48.B.1
I-Li
Istituto Musicale "Luigi Boccherini", Lucca
(missing, only preserved in photocopy): 4 pages, 2° with 20 staves. With corrections in another hand, probably that of a professor at the Milan Conservatory.
Fellerer 1937b, p. 688, reproduced the first 7 bars.
48.B.2
I-Li
Istituto Musicale "Luigi Boccherini", Lucca
(missing, only preserved in photocopy): 2 pages, 4° oblong format (34.5 × 24 cm) with 12 staves, possibly in the handwriting of Puccini’s brother Michele.
This is the beginning of a fair copy of 48.B.1 (the first 45 bars with the tempo indication “Andante sost.o”).
The original double leaf also contained 47 (apparently on the fourth page after a blank third page; see Hopkinson 1968, p. 65, IX h).
