Full score. 1 double leaf and 1 single leaf (6 pages total), oblong format with 10 staves, containing fair copies of a series of cadenzas and contrapuntal exercises, some for string quartet. Printed along the left margin of both leaves, perpendicular to the staves: «Proprietà del R. Stabilimento Musicale Tito di Gio. Ricordi – Milano».
On p. 2 of the double leaf: “Cadenza” (G major, 4/4, 4 bars), followed by “Basso in sol” (G major, 3/4, 17 bars), which continues on the recto and in the first system of the verso of the single leaf for a further 26 bars, and concludes on p. 3 of the double leaf with the first 3 bars of the first system. Both the Cadenza and the Basso bear the part indications “Violini I II”, “Viola”, and “Violoncello”.
On the verso of the single leaf, from the second system: “Scala del P Mattei a 4 voci”, with parts labelled “Sopra”, “Contr”, “Tenor”, “Basso”.
